Summer Library Program 2018 : "Libraries Rock!"

New This Year: You can track your reading progress this summer online through READsquared ! Paper logs are still available for anyone who prefers to use them.

Adult Program: Most events are themed around Thornton Wilder's The Matchmaker. See your reading log for a full schedule of events.

Teen Technology Lab: YouMedia!
Beginning in May, we will have a technology lab where teens can make their own content be it music, video, podcast, or other projects utilizing cutting edge technology like Garage Band, Adobe Illustrator and other apps. Click here for more information.
Introduction to YouMedia Lab equipment and tutorials. Saturday May 19, 2pm and Wednesday May 23 at 6pm.

Children's Program Schedule:
5-6 year old's - Mondays: 9:30-10:15 (June 11, June 18, June 25, July 2, July 9, July 16)
7-8 year old's - Mondays: 10:45-11:30 (June 11, June 18, June 25, July 2, July 9, July 16)
9-10 year old's - Thursdays: 9:30-10:15 (June 14, June 21, June 28, July 5, July 12, July 19)
11-12 year old's - Thursdays: 10:45-11:45 (June 14, June 21, June 28, July 5, July 12)

Volunteers Needed:

Youth Volunteer Positions at the Library.

We are looking for a pianist to donate their time to accompany us for musicals singing June 30th at 2pm. Also, if you are musician or group that has a passion to educate others about music and would be willing to donate your time to provide an interesting educational session and/or a performance to our community, please contact the Library Director at  

Summer Library Program Schedule Special Events:

Unofficial kickoff of the Summer Library Program: Libraries Rock!
Boys Don't Play With Dolls: A Short history of G.I. Joe  
Saturday. May 26th, 2pm
Whether you are female or male, doll or action figure collector, have played with G.I. Joe or other types of action figures as a child or have children that are interested in action figures, this will be a fun afternoon! Celebrate Mother's Day, Father's Day and the summer with a special display May 7th - June 4th sponsored by the Sunshine Doll Club of Florida.

Libraries Rock Extravaganza: Saturday, June 9th
10am - La Hora Fantástica: Cuentos en Espanol
11am - Musical Performance by GLADIUS: award winning guitarist playing a mixture of multi-cultural music styles and inspiring the audience in overcoming obstacles.

Little Kids, Little Songs:  Wednesday. June 27, 12pm
An introduction to live music by a professional flautist, comedy and theatre for children and families through an engaging and entertaining special performance by the Green Golly Project.

Write Your Memoirs Now: Saturday, June 23rd at 2pm
No, you're not too young to be thinking of writing your memoirs - or at least getting them started. Learn how to organize and write your life story, explore publishing options from author Cynthia MacGregor.

Libraries Rock Musicals: Saturday, June 30th at 3pm
Afternoon of fun from Hello Dolly to Sound of Music.
